Our School Resource Officers are committed to ensuring the safety of all students, staff, and visitors while fostering positive relationships, supporting student growth, and promoting a culture of respect and responsibility. Through mentorship, education, and community collaboration, we strive to create an environment where learning can thrive safely and confidently.
Officer Anderson has over 25 years of experience in security and served in the US Army (Infantry) and Retired US Air Force Security Forces (Military Police). As Tri-Valley’s School Resource Officer (SRO), he brings a wealth of knowledge and dedication to keeping students safe while building positive relationships across the school community.
SROs are certified law enforcement officers assigned to schools to ensure safety, prevent crime, and support students and staff. Officer Anderson’s role goes beyond enforcement, he mentors, educates, and counsels students while providing guidance during crises. He also collaborates with staff to develop safety plans and serves as a bridge between the school and local police.
Trained specifically to work with adolescents, Officer Anderson has the authority to make arrests, respond to incidents, and maintain school security, but his focus is on education, mentorship, and community engagement.
He loves connecting with students, sharing insights about law enforcement careers, and helping them feel comfortable approaching him. Some of his favorite school events include School Safety Day and Ag Field Day.
Officer Zachary Ney brings the discipline and experience of the United States Marine Corps to his role as a School Resource Officer (SRO) at Tri-Valley School District. As an SRO, he is dedicated to providing a safe and secure learning environment while serving as a mentor, educator, and resource for students, staff, and the school community.
SROs are certified law enforcement officers assigned to schools to ensure safety, prevent crime, and build positive relationships. Officer Ney’s role goes beyond enforcement—he supports students in crisis, provides guidance, teaches law-related topics, and collaborates with staff to develop school safety plans. By acting as a liaison between the school and local police, he helps foster community connections that enhance trust and understanding.
Officer Ney loves being an SRO because he gets to see students be the best they can be, and he thrives on the positive energy that students bring to campus. He enjoys seeing all the smiles and making school a welcoming, supportive place for everyone.
